This is pide, somewhat similar to a mutarbak to me, but baked instead of fried and with cheese inside. Yummy

Turkish kebab...not sure how authentic this one is but kebab is one of my favorite turkish dishes, though actually i must quantify by saying I dont' know manY!

Minced meat brinjal. I seldom eat brinjal, think this is the second time I've really eaten.

Seafood!

Nice spread of seafood in this platter. Very fattening I'm sure, but satisfying and the peppery grilled taste is pleasantly savory. Not a wow, fantastic dish but good enough.

Sujjongkwa...a must try in Korea - recommend me a place to try a good one if you know

Our beautiful protagonist checking out the food. :)

Bibimbap - one of our favorites...can eat with the chilli or without.

Bulgogi - Beef...sweet, love the onions and spring onions, but be careful of your breath afterwards...

Wonderful colours of the different side dishes in Korean Cuisine. Clockwise from left: Shitake Mushrooms, Sweet potato balls, Seaweed with cucumber, Long beans with carrots, Kimchi, something I suspect made with beans - our favorite of the lot.

JerL: When I read this post, I messaged Slushy over "Hello" that it should be long beans with sausages, not carrots. Then we zoomed in to look at the dish to discover that there was both! But Slushy ate the carrots but not the sausages. I ate the sausages but missed the carrots! This is so funny! lolx.

My personal favorite is the Sweet Potato Balls, which I think it was the sweet sauce that attracted my sweet tooth. The Seaweed with Cucumber dish - I like the seaweed but not the cucumber, but Slushy likes the cucumbers but not the seaweed! She found the seaweed too fishy. But I like the taste of the sea.

Both of us hated the Shitake Mushroom dish which was very tasteless. This is rather strange as both of us are mushroom lovers.

Coconut Ice-cream with pineapple sauce topped with chopped pistachios by Swensons. Interesting concoction but can never match the coconut ice-cream that I tasted in Bangkok. Reminising the taste. Posted by Picasa

Rodeo Wings and Deep Fried Mushrooms by Swensons. The side dishes really tastes great! Both were juicy in description! Try them out! Posted by Picasa

Cheese Beef Burger from Swensons. This is a new dish and the beef patty tastes pretty juicy! If you want ice-cream, I suggest 2 person sharing this burger to keep some space in your tummy. Posted by Picasa

Curries!!! Any takers?

Went with Slushy all over Orchard Road in search of good food and we finally ended up at this Korean restaurant at Heeren. After eating our fill, we were not satisfied with the food at all and told ourselves that we were not going back there again. What a let down for the amount of money we paid.

Guess good food doesn't exist at Orchard Road. Need to scout around for good food places and note them down. Was watching this TV program called Glamourlicious or something where 4 DJs went around Singapore to introduce the best curries found. Managed to note down these 2 and we shall go and explore some day?

Authentic Thai dishes - by P&P Thai Food
Block 638 Veerasamy Road #01-101
Opens: 11.30am to 10pm; closed on Sundays
This stall holder is a Thai lady and she serves yummilicious Thai green curry, red curry, white curry. And this dish called Prawn in dried red curry sauce... looks really appealing. Indeed home-cook Thai food.

Japanese Curry - by Curry Favor
39 Stamford Road #01-09 Stamford House
This restaurant serves more than 200 kinds of Japanese curry dishes! Wow.. I'm impressed. Japanese curry, unlike other curries, does not have coconut milk added. Thus, the Japanese curry tastes more sweet and smooth. It is a different experience.

I'm looking forward to going down to savour the curries! Any takers?

what a beautiful presentation again! by Les Amie - The Canteen Posted by Picasa

Salmon sashimi - fell in love with these recently. I guess it's an acquired taste. Didn't use to like these until recently. Been having craving for raw salmon sushi almost every other day! Need them really fresh though.. Never eat those from the conveyor belts. Serious! Bacteria multiplies really fast. So make sure the serving is fresh from the kitchen. Posted by Picasa

Sesame ice-cream with a sweet pastry with red bean and pumpkin filling. Totally delicious. Slushy finds it a bit too sweet, but I've got a sweet tooth. It's totally yummy. Love sesame ice-cream! My favourite! By TCC. Posted by Picasa
